DIABÈTE TYPE II

TYPE II DIABETES

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease that affects blood sugar regulation in the body. Unlike type 1 diabetes, it is mainly caused by lifestyle factors. People with type 2 diabetes develop resistance to insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas that allows sugar to enter cells to be used as an energy source.

If type 2 diabetes is left untreated, it can lead to serious complications. Prolonged high blood sugar damages blood vessels, nerves and organs, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, kidney failure, eye problems and nerve disorders.

Chronic inflammation plays an important role in the development of type 2 diabetes. Often associated with obesity, it can cause insulin resistance, as well as dysfunction of the beta cells of the pancreas which produce insulin. Studies have clearly shown that elevated inflammatory markers are associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes.

Adopting a diet and movement that controls blood sugar and inflammation play a crucial role in the prevention, management and cure of type 2 diabetes. Yes, it is reversible and is not inevitable.

Chronic stress and sleep should also be taken into account since they can affect blood sugar levels by increasing blood sugar levels, worsen insulin resistance and influence eating habits and physical activity.
